Happy Bday to me

To all who sent me bday greetz yesterday: Thx a bunch!
To all who forgot: your laptop, your e-mail, your mobile,… all equiped with alerts function, so no excuse,  f*** off ! ;-p

London baby !

Just got back from a great weekend in London.  My god friend Marcin always knows to fill a weekend with some fun entertainment!  On Saturday we had a sushi picknick in sunny Hyde Park (check pictures here).  In the evening we went to the rollerdisco; like Madonna once did (see video below).  On Monday I had a Madonna-related event and in the evening we had VIP-tickets for one of the parties for London’s Fashion Week.  So funny to see the extravagant London fashion scene! It’s totally the cliché I’d imagined it’d be: skinny girls with just a few centimeters of clothes wrapped around them, drunk on cocktails; guys wearing overly feminin clothes; crazy hats & fur coats; a lot of ‘m’as tu vu’…  but such a great experience!

Web Goes Mobile seminar – pictures

My first own YouTube video, or rather slideshow with pictures of the Web Goes Mobile seminar (8 Nov. 2007), which I organised myself for my company MobileWeb.be. :-)

Meet Bartie Simpson

Another very original marketing campaign, this time to promote the Simpsons movie.
Go to www.simpsonizeme.com and simpsonize your own picture.
What do you think of Bartie Simpson?

I believe I can fly!

Yesterday, I flew an airplane.
No seriously, I did!  My friends Peggy and Krissy and I bought each other Bongo gift certificates which allowed us to choose an adventure activity.  We went for an experience high in the sky!  Krissy went up in a delta plane, while Peggy and I took turns flying a small sports airplane.  Once in the air, the instructor handed over the steering wheel to me and I had to keep the thing up in the air!  After flying over the city of Doornik and enjoying the view in the afternoon sun, I landed without a problem.  Fun experience!  Check the pix below.

Best Wishes!

For everyone out there, I wish you all the best for 2007!

Lotsa love, friendship & happiness for you and your loved ones.
A caring lover, an interesting job, a cosy place to live, good health, time to spend on travel or your favorite hobby,…

And for the Madonnafans among us, lotsa Madonna madness (even when there’s no new album or tour in sight…)
Countdown for January 26 (Benelux) / 29 (World) / 30 (US) for the brand new CD+DVD of the Confessions Tour!

September update

Hi everyone!

Another month passed – been a bit lazy when it comes to this space…
Then again, this space was offline for a few days… due to some bitch’s complaint who managed to get this space censured.  Nothing like freedom of speech, right?

What’s been up?  I got back from my Madonna adventure in Paris and Amsterdam early this month.  Six concerts in 9 days was maybe a little bit of overkill   Don’t get me wrong, i had an absolute BLAST! It was great to see that amazing Confessions show from all different corners: In Rome I was standing left of the catwalk, in Paris i was twice at the end of the catwalk and twice front row right of the catwalk.  In Amsterdam I was in the golden circle with a general view of both the catwalk and the main stage.
But all the hours, days of queueing really got into my system and I got home with a cold, sore bones and completely exhausted.   Only the past few days I’ve been feeling recuperated again!

Meanwhile, the tour was wrapped up in Japan over a week ago.  It turned out to be the top grossing tour of the year, and Madonna received an entry in the Guinness Book of Records for Top Earning Female Artist.  Other than that it’s a bit quiet on the Madonna front but that should soon change, coz we have some releases coming up:
- the fourth single of Confessions On A Dance Floor will be Jump, which will be released in November. the single has been released to radio in some countries and will hopefully soon be taking over the airwaves.  Make sure you request it at your local radio station.
Madonna filmed a video with Jonas Akerlund when she was in Tokyo, sporting a platinum blond wig.
- Madonna has a new childrens book out in November: The English Roses, Too Good To Be True is the follow-up of her successful debut The English Roses.

- The live DVD of the Confessions Tour – Live in UK is expected before Xmas 2006.  Unfortunately DVD release plans for the 2004 Re-Invention Tour have been put on hold for now…

Have a nice weekend!

E-Zone Sailing Cup

Last friday I went sailing for the first time. It was organised by my company E-zone, as a team-building ‘corporate event’. We went to Noord-Beveland at the Oosterschelde in Holland.

Not being *too* fond of boats, I wasn’t expecting much but it turned out to be great fun! As part of the Yellow team we were on the winning end for a long time, until we got passed by the more experienced Red team.  By then, the Orange team had already given up.
The weather was great, some sun but not too hot, and enough wind.  Especially the way back, when we were facing the wind, was great coz that’s when you really learn to sail!  With your boat hanging one side in the water, and you at the other side, in the wind and splashing water, grrrrrrreat!!

Needless to say, the joy of the sailing reflected on the enthusiasm of the group.  Especially when we enjoyed a nice dinner together. And afterwards we stayed with a small gang on one of the boats, laughing and drinking wine and whisky till 3am!

Check out the pix in the Photos section of this blog!

The New Job

So it’s been more than three weeks now that i’ve been working for E-zone (www.e-zone.net) in Diegem (close to Brussels).  So far, so good.  Took me some adjusting of course, but seems like an interesting job.
Their main businesses include domain registration and web hosting (www.register.be) and SMS communication (www.mobileweb.be).  All much more interesting material for a webmaster than the washing machines and kitchen utensils i had to cope with in my previous job

The company has only 18 employees, all in their twenties or thirties.  All in a very open & flexible environment – sth i was REALLY looking forward to after the conservative and over-restricted Krëfel!

Now they still have to get to know the real Bartie (hehe)

All in good time

News titbits

Hi everyone,
it’s been a while – here are some random news titbits.

* Just back from a lovely trip to Italy.  Visited the fantastic cities of Rome, Florence and Pisa.  Weather wasn’t always great, but we’ve seen a lot of beautiful things, beautiful clothes and beautiful men.  But a tip of advise: when you’re in a mediterranean country and you look dark mediterranean yourself, don’t bring your cute blond & blue eyed friend ;-p
(just kidding S. – you know i love ya – thx for the fun ;-)

* Holiday is always fun – but time flies when you’re having fun.  Which means, back to work. Or in my case, onto a new job! *IEK*  Tomorrow (Apr 3) i’ll start my new job at the Internet company E-zone.  Feeling like a little kid before his first day at school, wondering if his new class mates will like him or not.  But "you can love or leave me coz i’m never gonna stop no no…" ;-)

* Eager anticipation for Madonna’s upcoming tour! The announcement has been said to be coming quite a few times but many are now convinced it will happen tomorrow!  If the rumours are true, then i’m definitely going to the shows in Barcelona, Paris and Amsterdam – maybe London too – LOL! (me, greedy? ;-)   But ofcoz the ticket hunt will be HELL again.  If the ticket sale is on a week day, i’ll already have to ask for a holiday at my new job, hmmm…

* Oliviero Toscani, the notorious ex-photographer of Benetton is back! This time he’s made a campaign for Ra.Re, featuring guys kissing and getting pretty touchy ;-)   To see why conservative Italy wants him to burn in hell, just check the pix here: http://www.adverbox.com/2005/10/ra-re.html  Yiiiiiiihaaaaa! ;-)

Bartie’s got a new job! <:o)

Yes darlings!  After four years in my prison at Krëfel (www.krefel.be), i broke free!!
It was my only New Year’s resolution to find myself another and better job in 2006.  And at the end of January i can say I DID IT!

After two weeks of interviews and tests I was accepted as "Product Management & Communication Executive" at E-zone (www.ezone.be).  Which basically means i’ll be doing their websites, newsletters and communication.  I’ll start there in April, after having finished my "remaining time".

Madonna picks cover on Mad-Eyes!

Hey peeps!
A late update of an exciting story!
“Sorry”, second single from Madonna’s Confessions On A Dance Floor, will carry a picture that she found on MY SITE!! Yes, really!!
You might remember (if not check this blog’s archive ;-) that I saw M in concert in London last November.  My good friend Marcin took some amazing pix from that gig, which were published on Mad-Eyes. In December I got a mail from her management, asking me about those pix, which they found great!  After they had reached an agreemnt with Marcin, they decided to use one of them for the single cover of Sorry! Recently, we got it confirmed and saw the final cover, which was our picture reworked by Giovanni Bianco.  Check the original picture and the single cover in attach!  It’s the first time she has used a fan’s picture for official artwork.  And ofcoz it’s also a confirmation that she and her people actually check my site! YAY, such great recognition! :-) )

Best wishes!

Heeeeeeeeey all!

Best wishes for 2006!!
I’ve had a wooooooooooooonderful week of relaxing in Luxemburg with the family.  Some hiking through a besnowed forest, afterwards rewarded with hours of wellness, with sauna, hamam, steam bath, swimming pool, meditation, etc. etc. mmmmmmmmmm

Then had a blast on New Years Eve (though that got a bit out of hand with some guests i shouldn’t have let in my house – i’ve learned my lesson)

And guess what?  I got a lovely mail from MSN saying some content on this MSN Space was against their rules. Oink?  Apparently someone complained that my gorgeous Dieux du Stade and my Xmas stripper were "too pornographic" – djeeeeeeeeez
So anyway, those entries are gone now – if you miss them too much, let me know and i’ll send you the pix! ;-) )

greeeeeeeetz

Lazy weekend!

What a lazy weekend that was!  Saturday I slept till… 5pm   although I hadn’t gone out on friday.
Lovely bday party in the family on sunday afternoon, followed by party @ le YOU in BXL in the eve.

Meanwhile in Madonnanews: as of today, you can preview her new single Hung Up in a 30 sec. ringtone.  She also revealed her album cover – groovy baby!

Well, have a nice week everyone
*yawn*

Weekend!!

Yaaaay!! The weekend is here!
Was ’bout time, coz the work week was sh*t – my boss quit her job, which will mean a restruction of our marketing service, which caused quite a stir.  I don’t have to worry though – the webmaster stays in place!

Anyway, started off the weekend pretty well in the Room yesterday, in good company, but unfortunately overlooking the oh soooo boring Belgian men, humpfff…

Got some more weekend plans, off to Ghent tonight; theater in Antwerp tomorrow.  And i should be off enjoying the sun right now!!

Cheers!
B-)
